Community Living Month

Community Living Ontario

Community Living Ontario is a non-profit provincial association that has been advocating for people who have an intellectual disability and their families for nearly 70 years. We proudly work alongside over 115 local agencies and advocate on behalf of more than 100,000 people across Ontario. We are an active member of Inclusion Canada and regularly communicate with equivalent provincial and territorial associations. We also have influence at the global level thanks to our affiliation with Inclusion International.

The Community Living Ontario Foundation (Foundation) is a non-profit registered charitable organization based in Toronto. The Foundation was created to develop resources for Community Living Ontario initiatives and to expand the role of the organization.

Mission:

Community Living Ontario advocates with people who have an intellectual disability, their families and member organizations, to create inclusive communities across Ontario.

Vision:

We envision an Ontario where everyone belongs, is valued, and has the freedom to live the life they choose.

It’s May, which means it’s time to celebrate Community Living Month! Learn more about #CLMonth2022 and how you can spread our movement’s message that #InclusionMatters for people who have an intellectual disability and their families.

Community Living associations across Ontario support over 100,000 people who have an intellectual disability and their families. We believe all of them deserve to be included in their communities! Help spread the word using the hashtags #InclusionMatters and #CLMonth2023

The Community Living movement was founded by families who knew their loved ones needed to be authentically included in their communities in order to live full lives. This #CLMonth2023 let’s celebrate how families like yours show how #InclusionMatters

For #CLMonth2023 we’d like to recognize personal support workers and other caregivers across Ontario for their dedication to keeping our community members safe and supported. Thank you for helping us to continue #InclusionMatters
